Root canal procedure: unhealthy tooth, drilling, filing with endofile, rubber filling and crown

Around the time I was 4-month preggers with Anna, I went to the dentist for my bi-annual cleaning and my holistic, all-natural dentist found 2 cavities. Where else but NYC will I find a holistic dentist? I love her and her practice. Her dental hygienist is super nice (the dude in the middle) and puts up with me when I find myself having minor breakdowns in the chair. But then I can always zone out and tune in to Seinfeld playing on the television, attached to my fountain/sink. Subtitles included! 

So back to topic... Due to the topsy-turvy pregnancy sickness, I almost threw up just sitting that long under a hot lamp for a cleaning, and I knew there was no way I'd make it without being sick for 2 fillings. And for those of you who were around for my first and second trimester heard me on occasion go for the porcelain throne. Imagine doing that on my dentist. 

So I waited... And I waited... Until I noticed one of my teeth, second to the right of center of my Senior Superlative "Best Smile," turning grey... And then a little black... And eventually, decaying before my very eyes. That cavity I didn't have fixed because I was so sick back in April, or after Anna was born in July, or after the summer, or the fall, or even before Christmas, had become Root Canal Country. 

They were going to do the first half today, but I pleaded for them to wait until next week when I returned from Robin's wedding. Who want's to go to a wedding with a half of a tooth? Not I, ohhh not I. I mean, I will be in Texas and all! But can you imagine? "Heya there it's me Steyfanie, Robin's freynd... The one from Ohia, one state next to Wyest Virginya..."

Me. The Root Canal. Next Thursday. 

I am not looking forward to this at all.
