And... We're Back!

Look at this shiner!
While Anna and I were grocery shopping yesterday, I received a phone call from the Gabester's school, notifying me he took quite a serious tumble on the playground. We rushed through the pasta aisle, blazing past fruits and vegetables, heading straight to the car to make sure our bubbies was okay. When we walked in and saw his face, good and greased from ounces upon ounces of Neosporin, we gave him a big ol' kiss, packed up his bag and brought him home.

Since we couldn't let him sleep, I put him in the bath to take off the day, relax a bit, and let him play in there for as long as he wanted (which was close to an hour). He looked like quite the prune when he was done. He reenacted his fall with his fishes while in the tub.
Fish #1: Get the soccer ball Gabriel! Get it!
Gabriel Fish: I am going to get the ball! (fish running...)
Fish #1: Watch out!
G-Fish: Oooooucchhh! I fell over the soccer ball! My head hurts! Ahhhh!
I believe this fish replay was a bit therapeutic.
I woke up this morning with Aunt Jemima pancake mix staring me in the face while Gabriel said, "I would like pancakes this morning, Mom."
Pancakes always helped me feel better, too.
He's home today, with a black eye and recovering just fine.

Anna has been loving the Elmo walker we bought her, scooting around the house and talking up a storm. We are up to two big meals a day, cereals, fruits, veggies...
We nurse in between and this week we are starting three meals a day.
Her only grievance so far are peaches, which is wild because both Daddy and Gabriel loooooved peaches. She can't get enough of that applesauce, though.
Her personality is coming out a lot more, week by week, and she still never cries.
Instead, she has adopted this high-pitched shrill that is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard.
But we just laugh away, and think it is so funny how she has learned to give voice to her wants. She'll be 8 months tomorrow!!

**P.S. this is "This Stefanie Matters" 200th post!!!! The big one-year anniversary is coming up soon!!! Hmm could this be an excuse for presents??

Thanks. It's about time!!!! Poor baby Gabriel :( Anna is so beautiful, I just love her sweetness.
PS: I was not complaining, just claiming my grandmother rights.

Whoa! I guess Gabe took one heck of a fall! Hope he heals up real soon. What a little angel Anna is :-) Even with her high-pitched screech :-) I think Mom should jump in the tub, eat chocolates, & drink champagne!
