"Take a picture of me liking the stairs"
This is outside one of my favorite spots,
Alice's Tea Cup on the East Side.
Aunt Katie came to visit us in NYC while she was on Spring Break from college. She was here for the week, and then Dad came out to visit for a Thursday to Saturday stay. He cabbed over from the airport to meet us in midtown for a drink at one of my favorite sushi bars that also has amazing Happy Hour and super yummy Mojito's. Katie met one of my city friends, who I went to Franciscan with, and now we are both here. It was super fun, and I think Kate got a taste for city life... Manny and I are currently trying to convince all of our siblings that everything is better in New York, albeit a bit more expensive!

Dad with his signature drink, GreyGoose martini;
Katie and a yummy mojito
(non-alcoholic if Sharon is reading this);
my new favorite, Absolut Mandarin and Perrier
(the low-cal factor plays a big part)
Because of service changes on the trains, it felt like it took forever to get home! Katie and I begged for a cab, but Dad wanted to take the subway... Shucks... Good thing we had enough (to drink) to numb our feet because our heels were killing us! I vaguely remember stopping for a late-night slice of pizza and asking the guy behind the counter: "Do you have any drunk specials?" Meanwhile, Katie decided the place smelled like "cat" and rushed home to partake in leftovers... I made an amay-zing Irish pot roast (in lieu of St. Patrick's Day) and the girl who doesn't like meat loved it. This equals majah success!

Even a few NYPD did a double-take at this sight
Talk about a true sack of potatoes!
After Gabe and Papa went for donuts on Friday morning, (which is becoming a tradition when Dad comes to visit. If he doesn't remember, Gabe reminds him "We are going to get donuts, right, Papa?"), we ventured to the Upper West Side to shop around, stop by Central Park, eat at a great Italian restaurant, and basically hang out. On the way, Gabe passed out on the train, which meant Papa had to carry him through the 42nd St. station, which was quite a trek from the N to the A train... At one point, Dad had to stop and Katie and I took a turn, until Dad realized this made him look like quite the sissy, and took him back. Gabe was pretty dead weight, and at the end of the night, it took two bottles of red wine to recover.

Look here, Anna! Annnnnna!! Look here, baby girl!
Yeah... that was a no-go
Before Dad and Katie flew back to Ohio on Saturday, we headed to Steinway for some boutique shopping and then stopped at our favorite Thai restaurant for lunch. It was a short trip, but a lot of fun! Minutes before we left the restaurant, Anna perked up and we got in a good photo of her and Papa.

Yay!
She has grown so much in the last few weeks, basically bypassing the 6-9 month sizes and going right into 12 months. (Time to go clothes shopping again!!) She is rolling over all the time now, scooting along her play map, turning herself around all over the place, and really close to crawling. She spent 4 nights in her crib and Mommy and Daddy did great with the little bit of separation anxiety we both had. I had more than I liked to admit, but am doing fine. Last night she back-tracked a bit, waking up from 11 p.m. to midnight and then again from 4-7 a.m. We stuck her in the bassinet for the night, but I am looking forward to the crib again. The big announcement will be when we actually take the bassinet out of our room... She is just growing so much and hitting new milestones everyday!!
More to come later... Hope you are all enjoying the Spring weather, wherever you are!
