Gabriel welcomed his Wednesday morning with a nasty stomach virus that has him home from school, throwing up and diarrhea'ing on the hour every hour. It's kept me on my toes, but in between the bouts, he is resting with a cool washcloth on his forehead (no fever, but it calms him down I think). I really hope this is a 24-hour thing; I hate seeing him so sick and depressed.
It's a good thing it's raining out today, I think it would have been truly awful if it were a beautiful sunny day. The boy who never naps anymore actually slept from 1:30-3 p.m., after having a little chicken noodle soup and Gatorade.
He has specific instructions not to touch Anna, but I think I need to instruct her not to touch Gabe... She is so happy he is home today! While he was in her room laying down in his sleeping bag on the floor watching Thomas (a dream for him, really), she scooted through the kitchen and wanted to head into see him.
Unfortunately, there are little marble ledges that separate the porcelain tile in our kitchen and the wooden floors in the bedrooms. It is impossible for Anna to navigate over these partitions, and it frustrates her to no end when she can't scoot over them. I helped her over the ledge and she scooted right over to Gabe, parked her walker next to him, and watched Thomas. It was the cutest thing.
The "clacking" you hear in the video is her newest discovery... Pressing her tongue against her new front teeth and the roof of her mouth generates this sound and she does it all the time! If I don't hear her clacking, it usually means she is sleeping.
It's been a crazy few days for us here, while Anna's constipation has cleared up and we have an appointment set up for a gastroenterologist (no cereal or grains for her until then, just fruits, veggies and boobymilk), she has been doing much better. Let's hope this thing with Gabe runs its course quickly and I don't lose my mind in the process! Or worse, we all catch it, too!
