"All About Me"

Gabe had his first big school project for UPK and we loved the subject we were covering! It was titled "All About Me: Gabriel" and we made a collage of photos and antidotes about the Gabester. He chose all the photos we used and drew a self-portrait in the middle with his favorite color of the moment, Blue. He wanted to add a photo of Thomas (of course!) and a Tonka truck; when I asked him what his favorite band was, he told me Coldplay and The Fray (Daddy and Mommy are good influences), but his favorite song is Poker Face (is anyone really surprised here?) We added a Cuban and Ohio flag, and he wanted a photo of "my favorite dog Teddy" (and yes, he knows Teddy is in Heaven), but he remembers playing with him a lot at Papa's house. We drew a photo of Goldie, our goldfish, and the state of Florida where he told his classmates he visits his Abuela. He also talked about Ohio and all his family there and how "there's lots of grass there." Daddy, Mommy and baby sister Anna went into his class on Friday morning and "presented" the poster with him, and Daddy ended the presentation with a story - Gabe's favorite - that he read to his classmates and friends. It was "A Crack in the Track" with Thomas the Train. All in all, I think we nailed it!
