Shower Scene

Gabe is learning all about conservation at school this week. Yesterday in science class, the teacher told him to draw ways he can conserve the world's fresh water resources, since they are smaller than the world's salt water, which is "humungous" he told me. He decided he can start taking showers instead of baths, and this is him showering.

I am not sure how I feel about this. I went "old school parent" on the subject last night, after he almost started crying we were giving him a bath. We explained we are actually saving fresh water because he and Anna take baths together (for now) but if we ran one shower than one bath, we would be using a lot of fresh water.

He understood, thank Goodness. And thankfully Manny was there, who was a great diffuser, because I soon began rambling (quite loudly) about the pretentiousness of tree huggers and the Advocates for a World Full of Fresh Water.

When I was growing up, I thought my parents were old school because they listened to vinyl records and had a satellite dish the size of Texas in the backyard. Apparently I am old school because I take baths.
