One Project Down, 3,479 To Go!

I figured we needed to update on the progress of the apartment as we've thrown what was in existence in complete upheaval and changed everything - everything - around, to better suit all of us. (Although we kindly blame Anna for starting the wheels on the think tank.)

In true Manny and Stefanie fashion, we decided to take on this project exactly 1.5 weeks before leaving for Florida for Thanksgiving vacation, and thought that without a doubt we could accomplish this task. We are still shooting for the stars. As one priest once told Manny, "You're like a cat. You fall pretty high out of the tree but always land on your feet." Will we land...?? Not sure. It's been a tad stressful.

But, we want to report all things positive! (And not discuss how removing the tile adhesive on Anna's hardwood floors has taken 10 hours of scrubbing - and this is just 1/4 of the room. You think prayer can remove adhesive? If so, add us to your prayer list!)

So one room out of seven is 99.9% finished, with .1% requiring hanging up a few photos, posters, and baseball bats.

Alas, my favorite part........... (drum roll please!).......
the BEFORE AND AFTER of Gabe's new room!

Before, it was Anna's room, and was really only functional for diaper changes and sleeping:

Saturday, Daddy added the finishing touches to his amazing paint job in what is Gabe's room now and I began work on what Gabe called "the junk yard" under his new bed, which included a 4x6 pile of junk that was about 3 feet high. Over half of this stuff is what we found under his bunk bed. That bed, by the way, made a great Curb Alert on Craigslist and was promptly picked up by a neighbor. Despite this room being smaller than his old room, it is actually a lot more functional, thanks in part to his cool new loft bed:

After:

We still have some hanging to do and I forgot to photograph his closet, which is a great use of space for him. We particularly like the new white shelves that are great for his height, and everything is accessible for him, unlike his old room. Now, it's on to the rest of the house... Which reminds me, I have to go prime the kitchen!
