Just a Little Look Back...

As has become my annual traditional, every January I "retire" my previous years' scheduler before cracking open my new one. Nothing like a new planner! So fresh, clean, and new! As I somewhat emotionally looked through last year's before shelving it (no, I am not a hoarder; yes, I save my old planners), I found quite the striking contrast in pre- and post-Rett world.

This is the first week of January 2010 (manageable!):

Anna was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome on Feb. 23.
I cancelled all commitments (except therapies and assignments) but didn't leave my house much:

The week after the diagnosis (quite a bit more to do):

And just about every week since!:

It was eye-opening to say the least... Nothing I didn't know, but nothing I really took into consideration when blaming myself for not making it to the gym near as much as the year before or finding time to do much else, either. Thankfully, we've found our rhythm, and have our routines established, that I find myself ready for the new year in what has now become (10 months later!) our new normal.
And I promise, no more planner pics.

:)
