Each day, I've been feeling a little better, liiiiiiiike...
Monday: Required 3 naps and could make it 1 hour without pain medication.
Tuesday: Required 2 naps and could make it 3 hours without pain medication.
Wednesday: Required 1 nap and stopped all prescription meds in favor for over-the-counter Motrin IB.
Thursday: Nap Free! But still hanging with Motrin IB.
However. And that is a BIG however.
I have been itching like a crazy lady. (I am not sure how much "crazy" that explains in "crazy lady" terms just as I am not sure how much "crap" is in a "crap load" but it's still a valuable point of reference in my vocabulary.)
Because of my itching and my overall lack of complete bounce-back in the digestion realm, my surgeon asked me to come in this morning and have blood tests done on my liver levels. Around 6 p.m. he called to let me know that:
1. My liver levels haven't changed since Monday, which means they are still 10x higher than what they should be, and they definitely should have returned to normal by now.
2. He thinks I still have a gallstone "floating" in my common bile duct.
3. I need to go in for another procedure (this time, hopefully, outpatient) to get it out.
Talk about a bad news bear.
Dad is coming in tomorrow morning for a post-surgery trip and to visit with the clan. It now appears that he will be my hospital buddy while Manny mans the house with the kids. Can someone lend Pops a candy striper outfit? On second thought, forget that.
In Husband Humor, Manny made a hilarious joke when he was helping me get ready for bed the other night. When he saw the big scratch marks and scabby scabs from all of my itching, particularly on my back and shoulders, he said in the same ominous tone to me as the mother in Black Swan said to self-destructive Natalie Portman:
"If you keep doing this, you'll never make it in the ballet company."
And if you didn't think that line was funny, here was another:
"Good goodness wife, you look like you've been raped by a porcupine."
