Random Round-up
I won't discuss the crying-fit-turned-panic-attack I had this morning while cleaning my bathroom. Ok, forget it, I will. Four weeks out of commission is really starting to wear on me and the mail and my forsaken responsibilities is starting to add up into a huge stack that seems to me, currently, to be rather unmanageable. How did this is all come crashing down on me as I disinfected my toilet and Windex'ed my mirrors? The jury is still out.
I am trying to go by my old man's advice: "How do you eat an elephant? ... One bite at a time."
Anyway, on to the reason I sat down to write this post: Name Your Tune! For $20 you can order a CD with your child's name sung into every song. We received one with Anna's name and she is loving it. She will just sit and wait and as soon as she hears her name she starts laughing. It's so cute.
Daddy is busy putting all of her favorite music onto her iPad for her to listen to during her OT and PT sessions. She is always happier with music in the background! We'll work on getting a video of it all soon.
Tomorrow, I have a parent association meeting at Gabe's school, then I am going to an acupuncture appointment for the first time ever. I heard this lady was really good and could help me with everything I've been dealing with the last few weeks. Mainly, my liver. The good news is that all of my liver function tests are returning to normal and the awful chronic itching I had is now gone. I have markings all over my body - especially my legs - from the terrible ordeal. Great, just in time for summer! Looks like I will be purchasing some ankle length summer dresses until they heal up. Good thing they are in style this season.
Then I head over to see my surgeon in the afternoon for him to check out all of my lovely incisions and make sure I am healing up okay. Between the scratch marks, cuts, and incisions, I look and feel like an old raggedy blanket. Needless to say, I need some TLC. Manny has been forewarned:
Get used to elastic.
Granny panties.
And a one-piece bathing suit. At least for this summer.
Perhaps I should invest and buy stock in Mederma. I heard there scar cream works wonders.
Next Friday is THE day when I go in for hopefully my last procedure and take out the stint that is currently opening up one of my bile ducts that was swollen and not draining from inflammation a few weeks ago. I am really hoping this "day surgery" goes smooth. If it goes like the last one did - when I ended up in the hospital for 3 days - I think I might lose it.
Everyday I try do a little more than the one before and I think I'm doing okay. I still can't lift Anna or hold her very long before my abdomen starts hurting but that's to be expected. So, I am just eating away at that elephant....
