Happy Wednesday!

We just got home from an amazingly productive meeting with Adaptive Design in Manhattan. We went to see them so they could help us make a chair for Anna for when she isn't in therapies or ABA and she can just relax in. They are designing the perfect lounge chair for her that will be just for her when she wants to join us at dinner, watch t.v. with Gabe in the living room, or hang out with Mom in the office. (Right now we use the same chair all the time and we wanted something a little more "fun" for her.)

I just remember when Gabe was 3, he had this little red chair - which he still uses - and he loved that it was "his" chair. He still refers to it as "my chair" even if he now uses it as a step stool when he is getting himself a cup in the kitchen or helping me cook.

So, we walked in and they had this awesome chair made out of reusable materials - think cardboard - that was so cool! They are going to make one just for Anna! Then a local artist will come by and paint the chair. We requested Anna's fave's... Butterflies, ladybugs, flowers, etc. It should be done in about 2 weeks! I can't wait to share pics!

Another AWESOME thing we are getting for her that we never thought possible is her first bike! They have a Radio Flyer tricycle perfect for her and they will build onto it - they are adding a backboard, a pummel, a strap for her torso to hold her in, and straps for her feet on the peddles. This means when we go to the park we can leave the big adaptive stroller at home and push her on the bike! It comes with a long handle that will move the peddles - so even though Anna can't "push" them, she can still "feel" like she is riding! I can't wait to show up to the park with that!

We will be receiving that in about a month, and get this - they are loaning it to us and making all of the adaptions for her for free. At the end of the summer, we'll just give it back! This works our perfectly, especially because by next summer she'll have grown out of all the adjustments they made and can just do another. We are super excited for summer now!!

Take a moment to check out their website and spread the word!
