Patch Adams, err Gabriel

It is nearing the end of the school year (only 2 more months to go!) and that means most of Gabe's school uniform pants have been through the wringer, particularly in the rowdy-boy-at-recess-area:
The Knees.

Since I am not one for sewing and I like saving money by not paying a tailor $15 per pant (6 ripped total), or buying all new pants that he will grow out of by next year's school year, I decided patches were a perfect solution.

A better mom-version of myself would've gone to Michael's and picked out some cool patches for the multiple knee holes but the key here is convenience. So I bought a few different colored strips of iron-on material, loosely measured them to cover the rips and holes, set the iron to "Wool", smoothed for 40-60 seconds, and Woo Lah!

Ok... No need to act impressed.
But the silver lining in this hilarious fiasco is that Gabe loves the patches and likes matching the material to his different colored shirts. I give it one or two more years before this awesome acceptance of tacky patches wears off and I have to start investing in the village tailor. Or learn to sew.
(Not holding my breath on that one.)

Hey now Con. She also has some of my DNA. I'd say she's a half-and-half with the brains.
