H-A-M?! Is This Not The Most Asinine Thing You've Ever Heard?

When I went to bed tonight, I was tired. I mean, the tired where you lay down and within 5 minutes you know you're going to be sleeping. Alas, this was not my luck on this night. As I lay down to cuddle up to my cuddly hubby, my thoughts began to wander... From the nice lady at the park the other day to Gabe's latest funny, to whether I prefer my Mac 'N Cheese with American or Cheddar, to the overpriced pedicure I got after my doctor's appointment, to the... sliced ham I bought at the deli yesterday.

Huh?

Then, as I pulled out every ounce of self control I could muster, all I wanted was a bite of that sliced Boar's Head ham.

I heard once of a lady my dad used to work with who gained 100 pounds in her pregnancy. ONE HUNDRED POUNDS!! That's 3 1/2 Gabe's! She would come into the office with stories of how, in the middle of the night, she would get up with these insatiable cravings, the most common being carrot cake, and get out the mix, bake it, and then eat the whole thing. After she was done, she'd save the clean-up for the morning and head back to bed. Asinine, I thought, absolutely asinine. She should be calling her shrink in those wee hours of the morning, not baking and eating entire cake pans of Betty Crocker carrot cake mix.

Alas, it happened to me tonight. I got up, grabbed two slices of that ham, a slice of American cheese, and a glass of Perrier with lemon and came to the blog.

Really, who do you go to at times like this? The thought of the spaghetti in the fridge is a tempting second option but then I think about that woman and her carrot cake. And suddenly I don't want it anymore.
