While contemplating my month of August as September is right around the corner, I realized that I have spent this last month of Summer '08 indoors. The first week I lived in NICU at NYU. The next week I spent acclimating myself to being awake most nights and sleeping what I could during daylight hours. The third week has been spent revamping the house, unloading ourselves of unnecessary junk and, all things considered, catching up.Funny enough, this contemplation was spurned by the fact that I saw Sweet Potato Pie in the bakery section of the local grocery store. Through September-December, the baker's shelves here in NYC are stuffed with pumpkin, pecan, and sweet potato pie and I have to tell you, this is one of the highlights of the autumn season for me. I'll say it, I am a fat kid at heart.
Among the pumpkin patch visiting, the apple picking, the drives upstate to see the beautiful foliage, there is warm nights by the oven and mmm mmmm mmmmmm.... that Sweet Potato Pie.
I didn't purchase the pie just yet. If I start now there will be no end in sight. I am going to wait for a special occasion. Like Labor Day!

Sounds like fall is fun. Glad to hear things are going well.
Rafael read your blog and went to Publix to buy Apple pie and vanilla icecream. I guess fall just got to Florida. Oh! and he also bought a 6-pack of 100-calorie coke cans. Totally Rafa !!!
