So I watched his speech on Thursday night and Wow what a speech. Seriously, the guy knows how to captivate a crowd. I went to bed thinking that I might give this guy a chance, with my vote. Ever since then, Maverick McCain has pulled some serious weight in the campaign arena.
First, he announces his VP pick the very day after Obama's speech, stealing all thunder. Second, the VP pick! A mother of 5, the youngest is a baby who has Down Syndrome and who Sarah Palin went on record as saying she values every life and there was never a moment of doubt in her decision to have the baby... This is very good for McCain, and he knew it. But then the criticisms from the crowd... 'Only 2 years in office', 'no foreign policy experience', 'he just picked her to take women's votes that were going for Hillary'... Ok, so I am totally offended when people say that.
Just because Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton have a pair of ovaries and wear high heels does not mean I'm going to vote for them. I'll just say that I think McCain pulled a good move, tapped a strong woman who has looked corruption in the face in Alaska politics, didn't bow to the big oil companies, and is a mother of 5. She should be running for president! Anyway, I am excited to see where the McCain and Palin ticket go from here.
And, if you have the time and really want to know about one of Obama's policies, take a look at the vid from CNN.
