As preparations were getting underway for Anna's big baptism weekend, I was making countless trips to Target for everything... I'd come back, oops, we'd need a little of that.Go back, Repeat.I am a real sucker for the "Seasonal Aisle." These aisles are full of seasonal temptations, like the glow-in the-dark pumpkin they want me to believe I need, where I'll spend 30 bucks, plug it once, and shoo it into storage for an entire year. And by next year, I'll have forgotten I bought it.
I practiced great restraint when I walked by it the other day on my way to the bedding aisle (where I really did need something) until Gabe and I laid our eyes on The Cutest Costume Ever. He did somewhat "need" - and I use the term loosely - a Halloween costume. We've been invited to the Park Slope Parents Halloween Parade this year and although he'd look great dolled up as the character he is - "Gabriel Gutierrez" as he likes to say - we both really jumped at the chance for him to be his favorite fictional character.
As soon as we got home, he ripped open the Target bags and told me he wanted to wear Thomas and watch Thomas. Seeing that this opportunity bought me time to do the things I needed to do, I obliged. Within 15 minutes, he became Thomas, choo-chooing around the house and bouncing off the walls until he bounced off me, his huge head meeting my 9-week old incision from my C-section and causing it to (get ready to be grossed out) open up a bit. To make a long story short and save you the gruesome details (okay they aren't that bad but it wasn't much fun) I am fine and have to put off kickboxing for 2 weeks. Case (and incision) closed.

He looks adorable- sorry you were a casualty of it but he is still adorable.
Great to see such a wonderful big bro. Cannot wait to hear about the baptism. Hope our side of the behaved, unleashing them in NY is scary.
Probably not as scary as when we come visit :)
Love you....
