"Taxi!"

Yesterday on my walk to pick up Gabe from school, I had Anna in the Baby Bjorn and was strolling Gabe's stroller when it started to sprinkle. I said a tiny prayer, "Please hold off the rain for 10 more minutes! Let me just get to school, please!"

It continued the light sprinkling until I made the turn onto the corner where Gabe's school is. It started pouring! My prayer was answered, He held it off 10 more minutes, but that was it. I ran into the school. How was I going to do to get the kids home?

Manny was working and had the car. Rain was not in the forecast and I was sans umbrella (as usual). So I placed a call to Allah, our landlord's brother who also lives upstairs with his wife and three kids, and one on the way. They also own a limousine and taxi cab company. I was in luck. He was on cab duty and would be at the school in a few minutes to pick us up. I am so thankful we live in a building with good people!

As Gabe walks out of school and starts the familiar walk, I told him to wait, and that because it was raining, a taxi was going to come get us. He marched over to the edge of the sidewalk, put up his hand to flag a cab, and started yelling, "Taxi! Taxi! Over here!"

What a city kid!

Isn't there some BIG piece of property we could buy and just ALL of us live on it? That way Gabe and Anna could just run back and forth from Abuela's to Memmie's and then to Papa's too. The pics are great!
