What a successful first birthday! Picnic'ed in Astoria Park, what glorious weather!!
When Daddy got home from an early morning at CBS Early Show (they don't joke when they say "early"... 4:30 a.m. call time), he and Anna laid down for naps while Gabe and I got busy making the menu for our afternoon picnic lunch/birthday celebration. Sliced turkey and cheese sandwiches with a hint of spicy brown mustard and mayo; beefsteak tomato and mozzarella salad with some fresh basil, garlic, olive oil and vinegar; and garbanzo bean and sauteed spinach salad. Amazing. Gabe made a terrific sous chef.
She waves "Hi!" and "Bye!" like an ol' pro.
She looked at our creation like, "Cake!! Where have you been all my life?!"
She definitely made up for lost time. She L-O-V-E-D it!
