Ukulele Liz

Last weekend, in addition to Aunt Moni, the G-Fam welcomed an oldie but a goodie: Liz!

We've been best buds since our days in junior high, and our friendship was solidified through manymanymanymanyMANY amazing fun times and memories, including, but not limited to, getting caught cheating off each other's tests in Algebra I in 8th grade; eating raw cookie dough on Friday nights; and skipping morning class during senior year to go have breakfast at Mimi Christopher's, where she knew if Liz and I were knocking around 7:55 a.m., we had until 8:25 to head back to the high school.

This was one of the best things about growing up small town! Mimi and Pap's was only a 5-minute drive and our Period 1 teacher never noticed our absence. I am convinced it's because we were "good kids" and if we weren't in class he thought we were probably off volunteering somewhere. I just now realized I followed up the "good kids" part right after mentioning cheating in math, but from 8th-grade to senior year we had solidified a responsible and proven track record.

:)

Fast forward 14 years, and we've ended up in the same state, although she now lives about 7-hours away in upstate New York. It was great having her around! We had so many laughs - old ones and new - and she even brought her ukulele to play with the kiddies. (She's also a music therapist.)

So, she and Gabe put on an amazing Broadway-esque show about two of Gabe's favorite things:
Cars. And trains.

He of course was in his glory! And Anna also enjoyed the show!

Come back soon adopted Aunt Liz!

Let's see. Pap used to take you out of middle school early. And now I find out Mimi was harboring juveniles while they skipped morning classes. And your mom and I never knew this. I'm calling mimi.
