Ice Ice Baby

I'm a little late in posting - as you can tell, this is pre-barbershop. Gabe's school's Parent Association recently had an Ice Skating Party at an indoor rink near our 'hood one recent Saturday. Since I was out of commission then, I wore loose elastic and a jacket and took my seat behind the plexiglass and bore the title of photographer.

Pictured above is their first round of ice skating. By the end, neither Manny or Gabe required the help of the sides of the rink and looked like semi-professionals. Key word: semi.

But definite cuties.

And this is a classmate of Gabe's, who goes by the name of Daniel, and who is an absolute wildman in the rink. I accompanied the school on a field trip to Central Park's Wollman Rink a few months ago and was responsible for Gabe and an assigned buddy. That buddy was Daniel, and I spent more time screaming "SLOW DOWN DANIEL!!" than I would have liked. All of the other moms who were also on the trip gave me looks of both pity and "glad that isn't me." He is super nice and a good kid, just wild. This recent ice skating outing was no exception, as he whizzed by Manny and Gabriel with his arms outstretched and legs in an almost-split before crashing to the ice, laughing, and getting back up again.

A kid after my own heart?
