Back in NYC, Gabe and I composed his Christmas Wish List, and wrote a letter to Santa Clause. So when we found out that he was at the mall on Saturday, we were mucho excited to say hi and fill him in on what exactly Gabe was wishing for for Christmas.
When we got to the entrance way, we were shocked to find the prices for photos with Santa. $20 for a 5x7? Another $20 for a few wallets? Talk about price gauging! Enter in Monica, secret photographer-at-large. We had her positioned perfectly to be able to see us, but where the camera-snapping Elves wouldn't see her. Gabe wouldn't get up on Santa's lap, but that's okay. He did talk to him while he gripped my hand so tight the ends of my fingers were turning a little blue.
As Santa greeted him with a "ho! ho! ho!" and asked him what he wanted, Gabe said, "I would like Molly." (Molly is Thomas the Tank Engine's friend and a bright yellow train.) Then he said he wanted a Conductor to put on Molly to put on the track. Then, he took pause for a second, and said, "And... I want Bugs." It is hard not to notice Santa and I's reaction:
"Bugs?!!!"
