It's the Big *5*!

Ever since I started the blog back in April (or was it May?) of 2008, every August when our wedding anniversary rolls around, I love to post a few photos, copy and paste a few of my favorite marriage quotes, and call it a day.

But this year is different, because I really don't think any quote I can find searching the Internet would sum up what Manny and I have faced as a couple in the last 6-12 months. All this time, I thought our crazy beginning was the hardest thing we'd ever have to face, and we weathered that alright, right?

I take a step back, I survey the room, and I reflect. And I am left speechless. I really have no words today, on our 5 year anniversary, that could understandably translate how much my soul is intertwined with this man, my husband, my best friend. Sure, we all have our shortcomings, and we lose patience, and we have those "-ism's" that sometimes drive each other nutty, but in the end, I'd choose no one other than him to weather the storms with.

We will step away for the evening, have 24-hours to ourselves, find some rest and relaxation, and make a pact that we aren't allowed to talk about work, kids, and most of all, Rett. Our conversation shall be filled with big dreams and lots of hopes for ourselves and for each other.
